This document presents the national guidelines for “engineered hazardous waste landfill facilities”. These Guidelines are for the use of regulatory agencies and of hazardous waste management system designers, owners and operators. The topics considered include:
wastes characteristics affecting landfill design
site selection
design and construction
operations and performance monitoring
closure and post-closure care
contingency and mitigation planning
financial assurances and record keeping
